David G. Dalton, affectionately known as "Dave," passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was born on November 12, 1938, in La Cueva, NM, to James and Estefanita Dalton.
Dave was a devoted owner of a trenching and trucking business for many years, committing himself to his work with unwavering pride and diligence. His rich life was marked by the values he held dear, including a steadfast work ethic and a great sense of humor that endeared him to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A distinguished US Army Veteran, Dave served honorably in Germany and later retired from the National Guard. His service to his country was a source of great pride for him and a testament to his character.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Deborah Dalton; granddaughter, Amelia Dalton (Luis Gomez) and cherished great-grandchildren, Isabella, Emelyna, Athena, and Elias. Dave also leaves behind his sisters, Juanita, Leonora (William), and Virginia (Bruce), as well as brothers Herman (Maria), Richard, and Jessie, and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Estefanita Dalton, along with his brothers Daniel, Alfredo, Arthur, and sisters Ramona and Susana. He is also preceded by his granddaughter Eileen Dalton.
David G. Dalton will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the warmth, laughter, and love he radiated throughout his life. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will cherish their memories of him always.
