David Damm Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis-Anderson Funeral Home - Carlinville on Feb. 18, 2026.
David Damm, age 90 of Chester, IL, formerly from Carlinville, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at his residence in Chester, IL.

David was born September 14, 1935 in Wrights, the son of Carl and Vesta Jackson Damm. He married Katherine "Kathy" Woodard Damm on June 6, 1959, in Carrollton, IL. She proceeded him in death on April 20, 2023.

David was a hardworking, long-time truck driver whose steady commitment and strong work ethic earned him the respect of many. When he wasn't on the road, he could often be found in his workshop woodworking, out fishing or camping in the peace of the outdoors, or enjoying a good game of bowling. He had a deep appreciation for country music and the memories it carried. Above all, David treasured time spent visiting with friends and family. He loved a good conversation, sharing stories, and simply being together-moments that meant the most to him and to those who knew him best.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy A. Damm, son, Ricky Lynn Damm, daughter, Deborah Jean Eggemeyer, infant daughter, Catherine Christine Damm, grandson, Richard David Blake Bland, eight brothers, John, Dean, Carl Leroy, Jim, Tom, Richard, Gary, and Marion Damm, and one sister, Barb Hall.

David is survived by two daughters, Brenda Lee (Theresa Gross) Damm of Chester, IL, and, Shanda (Wayne) Weller of Palmyra, IL, four grandchildren, Misty (Josh) Straight, Kayla (Aaron) Braun, Katie (Reid) Mills, and Jason (Reagan) Weller, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two brothers, Raymond Damm of Roodhouse and Kenny Damm of Palmyra; two sisters, Betty Combs of Carrollton, and Sue Coke of Missouri.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, 10:00 to Noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL.
