Ray B. Damm, 93, of Silvis, Ill. passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
A funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, February 19th at Divine Mercy Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Silvis. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 18th at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be at a later date in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the church.
Ray was born September 14, 1932 in Ottawa, Ill. the son of Harold and Grace Arnold Damm. He graduated from United Township High School in 1950. On August 4, 1951 he married Marilyn Miller in East Moline. They were married until her passing December 29, 2025. Ray worked as an Engineer Designer for various companies over the years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and was past president of the Quad Cities St. Louis Cardinals Fan Club. For many years he served in the Naval Reserves. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, and design/drafting work. His greatest joy was time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include children: Raelynn (Stanley) Stephens and Mark (Rose) Damm; grandchildren: Erin, Erica, Rebecca, and Robert; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers: Neal Damm and Tim (Sandy) Damm.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; son: Kevin R. Damm; wife: Marilyn; his two older brothers who passed away as children: Harold and Gerald; and siblings: Jean Haynie, RuthAnn Welch, Kay Chase, and Gary Damm.
