Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. David Douglas Davidson, age 89, of Loganville, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Mr. Davidson was born in Morgan County, Georgia, a son to the late Roy Haynes Davidson and the late Ollie Elberta Savage Davidson Henry. Mr. Davidson was a retired Truck Driver and drove for Teamsters -ABF, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was baptized in 1981 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and remained constant in his faith until death. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davidson was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Sara Nell Dalton Davidson, and two brothers Richard Haynes Davidson and William Roger Davidson.
Mr. Davidson is survived by his son, Ricky Davidson (Carolyn) of West Point, GA; two daughters, Jody Thomann (Michael) of Loganville, GA and Ellie Might (Don) of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, Stacy Betsill (Troy) of Concord, GA, David Garner (Carrie) of Lawrenceville, GA, Cortney Menefee (Joel) of Loganville, GA, Marie Mickel of Jacksonville, FL and Tara Thrift of Jacksonville, FL. Eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Joshua, Madeline, Morgan, Finley, Alina, Anthony, and Ashton, brother, Keith Wayne Henry and many beloved nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In accordance with Mr. Davidson's wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held July 12 at 2pm, location Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Hillside Drive Grayson, GA 30017
