David E. "Dave" Davis, 73 of Zanesville, passed away on April 14, 2023 at Genesis Healthcare surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 27, 1949 to Benny and Ruth Irene (Adams) Davis.
Dave worked at Terrace IGA for 29 years, he then worked for various telecommunication companies as a fiber-optic installer before retiring from Mid-East Career and Technology Centers.
Dave was an avid automotive enthusiast. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and MLB, bowling competitively, playing the Ohio Lottery, tinkering in his garage, and caring for his pets.
Dave is survived by his wife, Carla (Greene) Davis whom he married May 13, 1980. He is survived by two sons, Seth A. (Mary) Davis of Zanesville and Christopher D. (Emily) Davis of Columbus. In addition, he is survived by his granddaughters, Mercade (Michael Chambers) Davis, Makayla Davis, and Aria Davis as well as three great grandchildren, Makenly Davis, Mackson Krouskoupf, and Maveric Krouskoupf. He is also survived by his sisters, Norma Bowman and Vicki Davis; sister-in-law, Martha Greene-Hatfield (David); brother-in-law, Dave Bugglin; and his adored pets, Amos and Josie.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by three sisters, Patty Best, Linda Bugglin, and Diana Davis; brothers-in-law, Jack Best and Logan Bowman; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frank and Helen Turner and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Millard and Elizabeth Greene.
Memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center, 1854 East Pike, Zanesville, OH 43701.
Visitation will be 12 to 3 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating.
