David “Shane” Davis, 54, of Calhoun, Georgia died Friday, June 30, 2023. He was born on June 28, 1969, in Calhoun, Georgia, to Helen Hayes Davis and the late David Lamar Davis. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law of 36 years, Suelane Redd; nephews, Timothy Redd, and Austin Baldwin; sister- in- law, Annie Mae Redd.
Prior to his disability, Shane worked at Dixie Group as a Lift Operator.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Donna Sue Redd Davis; daughter, Tabitha (Kyle) Carter; son, Dustin (Kayla) Davis; grandchildren, Hannah, Kyla, Taylor, Leah, Jayden, Kyler, Layson, Maddox, Oaklen; mother, Helen Hayes Davis; sister, Tammie (Stephen) Bryan; brothers, Richard Davis, Josh (Dana) Davis; sisters in law, Becky (Kenny) Young, Jennifer (Timothy) Angel; brothers in law, Kim (Judy) Redd, Tim (Becky) Redd, Russell (Heather) Redd; other survivors include his father in law, James “Buddy” Redd; a host of neices and nephes with special niece, Brittany Duncan, special friends, Exavier Christian and Scott Byars.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Reverends Tim Redd, Exavier Christian, and Preston Aker officiating. Burial will follow at Towes Chapel Cemetery in Adairsville. Pallbearers serving will include Richard Davis Jr, Tyler Baldwin, Brandon Long, Markael McConnell, Scott Byars, Burton Hall, Patrick “Bubba” Silvers, Eli Angel, and Derrick Duncan. Brothers in law will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 12:00 Noon until 8:00pm at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
