David Diaz

Fishkill- David (Dave) Diaz, previously of the Bronx, and a resident of Fishkill since 2011, passed away suddenly in Jacksonville, Florida. He was 72.

Miguel Diaz and Jean Gutierrez welcomed Dave into the world on October 15, 1953, in the Bronx. Dave graduated from Christopher Columbus High School and went on to pursue a career as an electrician for over 30 years.

On August 6, 2016, Dave married the love of his life, Karen Allington Diaz. She survives at home. Additional survivors include his stepdaughter, Amilyn Todd of Myrtle Beach, SC; his mother-in-law, Barbara Kelly of Jacksonville, FL; his cousin, Barbara Sabater-Kerr and her family whom he reunited with 10 years ago after losing contact for over 45 years; and many cousins in New York and California. Dave was predeceased by his parents.

Dave was a member of the original rock band, Freakswitch, playing the bass guitar. He was a devoted Jets and Yankees fan, Rock and Roll music lover, and a world traveler including Las Vegas, Florida, Greece and many cruise destinations.

All are welcome to join us for a Celebration of David's Life which will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 1:00 pm - 4:00pm at The Trinity Episcopal Church Hall, 5 Elm Street, Fishkill, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donation envelopes will be available at the service.
