David Charles Dirickson of Mesquite, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on Tuesday, August 31, 1943 in Utica, Oklahoma to Lucille Maude (Perry) and Len Ralph Dirickson.

David grew up in and around Bokchito, Oklahoma and graduated from Bokchito High School in 1962. He enlisted in the National Guard in November 1961 and served until 1969. David married Dorothy (Harris) in Roberta, Oklahoma on April 17, 1965 and they settled in Mesquite, Texas, where they raised their three children. He enjoyed coaching his children in sports and spending time with them as they grew up. He always enjoyed family gatherings and being with his children and grandchildren. He worked in the sheet metal steel fabrication industry for 45 years, working on many projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

David was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma. He always enjoyed meeting with his church family and listening to gospel music.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lucille Maude (Perry) and Len Ralph Dirickson; brother Elmer Dirickson; and brother-in-law Stanley Rhodes.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy Louise (Harris) Dirickson of Mesquite, Texas; sons Tony Dirickson and wife Barbara of Terrell, Texas, Perry Dirickson and wife Kim of Garland, Texas; daughter Tracy (Dirickson) Denton of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren Ryan Dirickson of Terrell, Texas, O. Clint Dirickson of Dallas, Texas, Christian Dirickson of Kemp, Texas, Callie (Dirickson) Newton of Fort Worth, Texas, Desiree (Denton) Sharp of Huntsville, Texas, Claire (Dirickson) Norris of Terrell, Texas, Sophia Dirickson of Garland, Texas; 9 great grandchildren; brother Leslie Dirickson and wife Janette of Belen, New Mexico; sister Dolores (Dirickson) Rhodes of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sister-in-law Mary Lou (Akins) Dirickson of Bokchito, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as other extended family and friends.

A family visitation will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Gordon Center, 305 N 2nd Ave. Durant, Oklahoma.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Grace Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Graveside service will take place at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Christian Dirickson, Ryan Dirickson, Luke Norris, Christian Newton, Jason Hamill, and Jeff Hamill will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Wyatt, Johnny Bundrant, and T.J. Boydstun.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Baptist Church of Durant, Oklahoma.
