David Berdett Dobbs

David Berdett Dobbs passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, in Rowlett, Texas, at the age of 65. He was born on February 21, 1960, in Dallas, Texas, to Bennie and Mary Ann Buchanan Dobbs.

David was devoted to his wife of 13 years, Kimberly Dobbs, and deeply loved his son, Garrett David Dobbs, and daughter-in-law, Sydney. He also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews Katie, Jessica, Sara, and Bonner, as well as his beloved dogs, Anna, Dobby, and Lucy

Known for always having a tool in hand, David knew how to fix just about anything and enjoyed working on projects, building up a well-stocked collection of tools. along the way and often putting his skills to use for those who'd ask. He was just good at fixing stuff no matter what way we put it. He especially loved his 13 wood staple guns.

David had a deep appreciation for good food and knew exactly where to find it. He especially loved his jalapeño corn casserole and his original jalapeño candied bacon, recipes that became favorites to those lucky enough to try them. No matter where you were headed David would have a recommendation for a place worth stopping, always eager to share something tasty with the people he loved.

A member of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall for 30 plus years, David lived his faith through steady service rather than words alone. He was actively involved in Tres Dias and served as a leader, experiences that reflected his desire to support, encourage, and serve others.
