David G. Dodge, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 2, 2026.
David is survived by his son, Matthew Dodge, three (3) brothers, Richard, Jeffrey and Michael Dodge, one (1) sister, Donna Dodge-Brown and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Joanne Dodge, his loving wife, Mary Beth Dodge (nee Papesh) and son, Christopher D. Dodge.
David was born and raised in Joliet. David was very active in the marching band and sports at Joliet Central High School. Upon graduation, David began working at Stepan Company in Elwood, Illinois where he became a master mechanic for many years until taking an early retirement. David enjoyed cooking, gardening and was a wine enthusiast. His long hair and calm demeanor earned him the nickname of “Uncle Jesus” to many family members and friends. David will be dearly missed but take solace in the fact that he and Mary Beth are finally together again.
Per David’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date so that we can all properly celebrate and toast to David one last time.
