David Allen Dorow

Greenland, NH- David A. Dorow, 86 of Greenland, died peacefully Monday, June 23, 2025 at Webster at Rye, NH. David was born in St. Joseph, Michigan on September 12, 1938, the son of the late Emil and Olga Dorow with 9 siblings.

He was raised in St. Joseph and had lived there until he served in the U.S Air Force. While in the service he met the love of his life Patricia A. Thompson of Portsmouth, NH. They married and raised a family settling in Portsmouth, where he worked as a licensed plumbing contractor. He ended his career working at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he was known for his generosity, care, and even saving a life. He was the recipient of the Frist Humanitarian Award in 1990. David was a hardworking man and was fortunate to retire in 2006 and enjoyed a full life.

He is best remembered as an active golfer in the Portsmouth Country Club community, and coaching his boys in baseball and basketball. He joined the Portsmouth Country Club in 1990 and had many hours of enjoyment on the course with his sons and his close friends, the Good Ol' Boys. He remained a lifelong Elks member at the Elks Lodge #97 in Portsmouth.

Dave and Pat played golf together and participated in whist tournaments at the Elks. His family was his life. The most enjoyable times were those spent watching his grandchildren grow and mature as they participated in many plays, concerts, and numerous sporting events.

David is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia A. Dorow, his son Donald Dorow (Karen), Daniel Dorow (Thaia), and Davey Dorow. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Patrick, Kortney, Justin, Ty, Luke, Maya and Lexi. He was also survived by his sister Betty and his brother Don. He will be dearly missed by all.
