David Allan Dorward was born in Dallas, Texas on November 23, 1931 to the late Margaret and Maurice Dorward and passed away peacefully on June 1, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Five Mile Cemetery (3801 W. Kiest Blvd, Dallas, TX 75233.)
Known to many as "Uncle Dave," he graduated from Baylor and served proudly in the United States Army for two years. His true passion was building houses and raising irrigated wheat and milo. He built houses with the family business before becoming a full-time farmer and rancher.
David cherished taking trips to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and traveling with his long-time partner Jo Ann Hoel. He was a kind soul with a good heart who also loved spending time with his dogs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don Dorward, his sister-in-law Jennifer Dorward and long-time partner Jo Ann Hoel. He is survived by his brother Russell and wife Betsy, sister-in-law Barbara, nephew James, niece Catherine, nephew David and wife Janet, nephew Don Allan and wife Brenda, nephew Russell Jr. and wife Chelsea, nephew, Will and wife Susan, niece Diane and husband Cody, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
