Obituary of David B. Douglass
David B. Douglass, 84, of Trappe, PA passed away Friday, October 17, 2025.
He was born in Abington, PA on January 24, 1941, the son of the late David B. and the late Agnes (Reed) Douglass.
Surviving Dave are: his wife Karen (Zicarrelli) Douglass, daughters Danielle Beldham and her husband Ian of Telford, PA and Nadine Lefkof of McKinney, TX; grandchildren James, Andre and Allyson Beldham, and Connor, Sydney, Addison and Marcus Lefkof; his brother Donald Douglass and his wife Susan, of Bowie, MD, his sisters Debbie Doyle, of Harleysville, PA, and Nancy Myers, of Chalfont, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis Douglass, brother-in-law Gregg Kolb, and granddaughter Caitlin Beldham.
He graduated from William Tennent High School in 1958 and joined the U.S. Army. When he was discharged in 1962, he started working at Univac while attending Temple University. He graduated from Temple in 1967 and started working at Merck. While there, he graduated with his MBA from Drexel University in 1970 and continued working at Merck until he retired at age 59.
While working at Merck, he volunteered for Junior Achievement, The Hatfield Planning Commission, The Fresh Air Fund, wrote for the local paper, and coached softball. He and Karen also volunteered as an emergency foster home for teenagers in crisis with Montgomery County Crisis Center and volunteered at many swim meets.
After retiring, he volunteered with Victim Services Center of Montgomery County,
Habitat for Humanity, Pottstown Beacon of Hope/Opportunity House (Pottstown Homeless Shelters), Keystone Opportunity Center's GED assistance program, AARP tax assistance, the Lego Robotics Club at Franconia Elementary and in Franconia's Tech Ed classes. He served on the St. Augustine of Hippo Church Sunday Breakfast Ministry, Bucks County Jail Prison Ministry, the Vestry for Church of the Holy Spirit, and was a board member for Perkiomen Valley Library.
Friends may call on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Church of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church, 2871 Barndt Road, Harleysville, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM following the visitation hour.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Habitat for Humanity, Pottstown Beacon of Hope, Keystone Opportunity Center or Church of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church.
