Barbara M. Weikert (Macquarrie) of
Bensalem, PA passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Philadelphia on May 7, 1948 to the late Malcolm and Elsie Macquarrie (Scatchard).
The Macquarrie family moved to Warminster when Barbara was in ninth grade. They spent so many of their summers vacationing in OCNJ which has left a legacy for her entire family. When Barbara wasn't in OCNJ, she spent her summers going to music camp and playing the oboe. She eventually became the counselor at Temple Camp in
Collegeville, PA alongside her Aunt Gert who was the camp nurse.
Barbara graduated from William Tennent High School in 1966. She furthered her education at East Stroudsburg University graduating in 1970 with a BS. Barbara later received her Masters in Education in 1973.
Barbara was a Health and Physical Education teacher for the Morrisville School District for over 30 years. After retiring in 2005, she became an Adjunct Professor at the College of New Jersey. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Elsie, Barbara often worked the election polls. She was passionate about her role as the Majority Inspector and made sure she was at every election.
Barbara enjoyed going to plays at the Walnut Street Theater with her friends. They had season tickets with prime seats and were very excited to have acquired these. She cherished her time with her friends doing the things that she loved. Every month she attended a luncheon at the Green Parrot with her group of retired teacher friends. She really enjoyed the time catching up with everyone. Barbara was also a huge Philadelphia Sports fan; making sure she watched every Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles game. She could often be heard hollering at the TV to "throw the ball." Barbara enjoyed arts and crafts with her grandchildren. She absolutely loved every moment that she was able to spend with them.
Barbara is survived by her two loving children; Scott Weikert of
Bensalem, PA and Stacey Deacon (Matthew) of Holland, PA; twin sister, Beverly Miller (Charles) whom she talked to everyday; brother, Malcolm Macquarrie Jr. (Camille); two loving grandchildren Emily and Zachary; and five nieces and nephews, Wendy, Janet, Tripper, Barrett and Spencer.
