Harry T. Serpico, of Doylestown, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at his home. He was 90 years old.
Harry was the beloved husband of Betty Ann (Strahle) Serpico. The couple shared sixty-eight beautiful years of marriage together, having first laid eyes on each other when Harry was introduced to his future wife in the Fifth Grade at Finletter Elementary School in Olney.
Born in
Philadelphia, PA to the late Salvatore and Viola (Stucke) Serpico, he was the youngest of five children: Marie, Tom, Eleanor, and Dorothy, all deceased. Harry was a resident of Upper Southampton, PA for 35 years, until he and Betty moved to Doylestown in 2005 to live next door to their grandchildren.
Harry graduated from Olney High School, (class of 1953), and was a student at Temple University, when he was suddenly called to take control of the family business after the unexpected death of his older brother. For the following 50 years, until his retirement in 2004, Serpico Printing located at 259 N. Third Street, in "Old City" Philadelphia, catered to clients as diverse as AAMCO Transmissions; Capital Pants Company; Magic Marker Corporation, and dozens of cabarets, restaurants, and nightclubs in the city. Harry was a "soft touch" and often donated his time and talents as a printer to various charities throughout the Delaware Valley. He was an officer in the Philadelphia Club of Printing House Craftsmen for many years, and he was often called upon to lead the "Twelve Days of Christmas" at their annual Christmas Party. Harry was a dedicated parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Doylestown. He was also a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles, and he especially enjoyed laying small bets on the Eagles "to make things a little more interesting".
Harry's easy-going nature and sunny disposition made him many life-long friends. He was an excellent tennis player, and he also enjoyed sailing, gardening, feeding "his birdies", and time at the Jersey shore. He was a self-taught harmonica virtuoso, and his musical ability livened up many family parties and Holiday get-togethers. But his biggest joy in life was spending time with his nine "grands", for whom he always found time to be with. He will always have a very special place in each of their hearts.
Harry was the beloved father of Christopher (Maureen), Peter (Mary Ianacone), Mariellen, and Lisa Galvin (Brian, deceased). His legacy lives on in his nine grandchildren: Brian (Melissa Riegel), Allison Kelly (Joseph), Scott (Gabi), Erica, Julie (Ben Fellenbaum), Steven (David Smith), Erin Sgro (Louis), Shannon Doyle (Eric), and Brendan Galvin, and his six great granddaughters, Quinn, Maeve, Sage, Edie, Ella, and Kiera.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on (Thursday), February 19, 2026 at 9am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 235 East State Street, Doylestown. A funeral mass will follow at 10am. Interment will take place at Doylestown Cemetery following mass.
