David Bryan Dowd

David Bryan Dowd, 66, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Hospice Savannah surrounded by his loving family.
Born on June 29, 1956, in Savannah to the late Wilbur Dowd and the late Mary Lorene Webb, David lived in the area for all his life. Working for Gulfstream Aerospace for 23 years as a preflight technician, then moving careers to TEC in Pooler as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Known as a jack of all trades, master of none, David was always there to help anyone in need. He was hard working and loved teaching his grandchildren all of his trades. In his free time, he loved watching NASCAR, being outdoors, hunting and fishing.
David is predeceased by his parents, Wilbur Dowd and Mary Lorene Webb; and brother-in-law, Charles Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sandra Kay Dowd; daughters, Wendy C. Dowd and Ashley Kay Whipple (Jason) both of Rincon; son by love, Joseph Gawinski (Lorraine) and family of Kuwait; brother, Mike Dowd of Virginia, Terry Dowd of Bloomingdale, and Jason Dowd of Bulloch County; special brothers-in-law, Ricky Scott of Pooler and Alvin E. Scott of Ellabell; grandchildren, Casie K. Whipple and Jeremiah E. Whipple; special nieces and nephews, Tracy, Rhonda, Don, Wayne, Amanda, Melissa, and Angela; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, from 5-7pm.
