David J Drawenek

David J. Drawenek of Kaukauna, passed away unexpectedly at home on July 26, 2022. David was born on October 7, 1943. After he finished High School, he served his country honorably as a member of the US Army until he retired from the military. He was also employed at Thilmany Paper until retirement from there. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. On June 26, 1965 he married the former Lynne "Lucky" Hillegas at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2017. Dave enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren. He loved cars and had a few classic cars of his own. He also loved to attend his grandkids sporting events to cheer them on. He enjoyed Christmas and celebrating holidays and watching old Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel. He also enjoyed country music and dirt track racing and watching the Packers.
He is survived by children: David (Laura) Drawenek, Jr. of Kaukauna; Dianna (Steven) Bey of Stockbridge; and his son Devin's partner Fawn Loose of Redgranite; ten grandchildren: Matthew (Jessica) Drawenek, Jesse (Rachel) Hunt, Dustyn Drawenek, Justin Bey, Cole Bey, Gina Daanen, Jarrod (Stephanie) Christenson, Jamie Allen, Kayla Green, and Conner Zornow, 10 great-grandchildren, sibling Lou Ann Otte, sisters-in-law Char Diehl and Margaret Drawenek as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife Lucky, one son Devin Drawenek, brothers Joe Drawenek, George Diehl, and sister Sandra (Jack) Collins, infant brothers-in-law Brian and Joseph, brother-in-law Otto Luedtke
Funeral Mass will be on Friday August 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna. There will be a visitation immediately preceding the funeral from 9:00am to 11:00am at the church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Kaukauna at a later date.
