David Drost Obituary

Watertown, WI - David C. Drost, 81, of Juneau, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Clearview in Juneau.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Ray Bezanson officiating. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service. A private family burial will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Watertown. Memorials, if desired, would be appreciated to the Hartford Auto Museum, Watertown Humane Society, Commonheart Hospice, or to the charity of one's choice. No cash donations, please. David Charles Drost was born on October 31, 1943, to Albert and Jennie (née Buursma) Drost in Watertown. He worked at Wis-Pak in Watertown as a supervisor for many years, as well as at Smart Parts in Hustisford.

David met Diane Koerber on a blind date 45 years ago, and they were united in marriage on June 9, 1984, at Watertown Moravian Church. Together they enjoyed dancing, road rallies, camping, and traveling. He was a past late model stock car racer and liked to work on anything with a motor. Most of all, David loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

David is survived by his children: Lisa Drost, Michelle Larson, Jacqueline (Jeff Becker) Tiedt, Tracey (Les) Keeser, and Jodie Ritsch; grandchildren: Anthony Drost, LoriJean Wilson, Jessica (Matt Schluter) Bordeaux, Dylan (Shelby) Larson, Paul (Shonna Brose) Tiedt, Ryan (Mandie Hansen) Tiedt, Amanda Woods, Elizabeth Keeser, Trenton (Kelly) Ritsch, Jaymen Ritsch, and Adeline (Griffin Robjohns) Ritsch. He is further survived by his sister, Katherine Wagoner, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Diane Drost, on May 8, 2024; brother, Alvin Drost; sister, Bertha (Weissenrieder) Ready; sisters, Marion and Mary Drost in infancy.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff of Clearview and Commonheart Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness while caring for David.
