David L. DuShane, age 73, of North Andover, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
He was born in Melrose on October 4, 1950, to the late Lionel and Miriam (Gillespie) DuShane.
David graduated from Wakefield High School in the class of 1968 and later pursued his education in Criminal Justice at Curry College. He had been a resident of North Andover since 1987. For many years he proudly served the community as a member of the Wakefield Police Department until his retirement in 2007.
David was the cherished husband of the late Ellen Marie (Ring) DuShane. He was the loving father to Danielle DuShane of North Andover, Meredith Kalil of North Andover, and Renee DuShane of Lunenburg. He was the grandfather to Theodore, Rhys, Rosamund, and Rory. Dave is also survived by "The girl next door," Eileen Foley Everett, his sister Diane M. DuShane of Wakefield, his mother-in-law, Evelyn Ring, brother-in-law Robert Ring, and sisters in law, Nancy Barry, Martha Ring, Carol Arsenault, Paula Ring, Kristine Janicki, and Kathy Guay, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, May 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass honoring David's life will take place at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday, May 7 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
