David Benjamin Dye, 87, was a resident of Concord, North Carolina, for many years, but relocated to Charleston in 2019, and most recently moved to Richlands, NC, to live with his daughter and son-in-law. He went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 29th at 4:30pm surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, and graduated from John Brown University with a computer engineering degree. He was a missionary to Canada before being hired to work for IBM. He loved Jesus, his family, golf, Tar Heels basketball and football, the Carolina Panthers and keeping up with the New York Yankees. His favorite hymn was "Jesus Saves" and his favorite scripture was Psalm 16:11 (NKJV). He is survived by his wife, Beverly Dye, his children Ben Dye, Lynne Stinson and husband Don Stinson, Kenneth Rehme and wife Bethany Rehme, Ginnie Postlethwaite and husband Rick Postlethwaite, Heather Everett and husband Eric Souders, Kathy Canestrini and wife Bonny Cawley. He was known as "Granddaddy" by his 6 grandchildren (Elise Bautista, Crysta Cardoza and husband Joe Polnisch, Brandon Stinson, Richard Postlethwaite and wife Rebecca, Ryan Postlethwaite and wife Gabrielle, and Quinn Everett) and 12 great-grandchildren (Christian, Alexis and husband Michael, Benjamin, Cody, Bella, J.R., Kalani, Kalia, Felicity, Koa, Lera, and Kaimana.
