David Eason Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Urbanski’s Bedford Funeral Chapel - Temperance on Jan. 21, 2026.
David Parker Eason, 53, of Temperance, MI, passed away January 15, 2026 after a valiant six-week struggle with cancer. David fought his Goliath with all his might, achieving a spiritual victory that made us proud.

Born November 26, 1972 in Toledo, OH to Mark and Shari (O'Brien) Eason, he was a deeply loved, strikingly beautiful child, attending Sylvania schools. After graduating in 1990 from St. Mary Catholic Central High School, Monroe, MI, he attended the University of Toledo for 3 ½ years. Adored by his grandparents, especially Charles and Evelyn (Parker) Barefoot, he delighted in Barefoot, Parker, and Eason family traditions.

David, known as Dave to his many friends, married Amy Haggerty in 1997 and the couple had two amazing sons, David Parker and Patrick Owen. The four of them so enjoyed spending time together in a tight-knit circle of love. Within the last seven years, the Easons were gifted with two fine daughters-in-law and five grandchildren on whom David doted and to whom he was "Pops."

For most of his adult life, David worked in sales, earning awards and promotions as a result of his hard work ethic, intellect, and skills in developing rapport with people.

His closest family members, cousins, uncles, aunts, in-laws, and a host of friends will always recall how hilarious he was, delivering his dry wit without skipping a beat. Possessing a gruff exterior, all who loved him knew his big tender heart was pure platinum. His years were enriched by the warmest of friendships; he cherished in particular his three closest friends, Paul Leite, Brian Heady, and John Elden, who were with him through the end.

Of all the roles David played in his life, none were more treasured than those of father, husband, son, grandson, grandfather, and brother. Those of us who he was a step ahead of in transitioning will feel a cavernous space in our hearts that only David can fill. We include beloved wife Amy; precious sons, Parker (Joselyn) and Patrick (Jamie) Eason; grandchildren, David Parker, Maddie, Maya, Masyn, and Archer Eason; devoted mother, Shari O'Brien; siblings, Danny O'Brien, Taylor (Brandon) Goebel, and Steven Eason; uncle, Jeff Barefoot; loving cousins, in-laws, and other dear relatives and friends too numerous to name.

His father, Mark Eason, passed away on December 28, 2025, and his uncle, Glen (Connie) Eason, on March 21, 2025.

Though broken-hearted, we are uplifted in knowing he has joined his God and Savior, who he has loved beyond measure. In his last sacred moments at St. Vincent's, his immediate family encircled him and upheld him in love, witnessing a radiance, a joy, and a peace flood his face and illuminate his beautiful blue eyes as he experienced the ultimate healing.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 12:00 p.m., a Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH following a visitation there from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

Tributes to David can be made to Rosary Cathedral, the parish David so deeply loved and where he so keenly felt the presence of the Lord.
