David Len Evans was born to Lenzell and Alma Evans November 25, 1966 in Chicago, IL. He grew up with a love for tennis and a passion for music. As a child David and his late brother, Michael, would enjoy friendly tennis matches with their father. He could always be found singing his favorite Prince song and was not shy about showing you that he could hit the same high notes. David, affectionately known as "Brown Bear," served his country in the United States Army, fighting in Operation Desert Storm. After the military David enjoyed being a truck driver where he was able to travel and make lifelong friends.
David moved to Mississippi in 2006 where he met and later married the lovely Evelyn, his wife of sixteen years. They built a beautiful life of love together where they enjoyed cooking, fishing, listening to music and watching their favorite tv shows together. David's greatest joy was being a husband, father, friend and Papa to his grandchildren who will miss him immensely. David Evans fell into eternal sleep Monday, November 25, 2024 in Ocean Springs, MS at the age of 58.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lenzell and Alma Evans, his grandparents, his brother, Michael Evans and aunt, Ann.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beautiful wife: Evelyn Evans of Ocean Springs, MS; his son: Kenneth (Kate); his daughters: Kem, Cecilia (Christian), Ashley and Alisha; his sisters: Miriam and Deborah; aunts and uncles; his grandchildren: Diamond, Isabella, Giselle, Ava, Karter and Anastasia; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
David may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you
And whispered "Come to me"
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
