David Ernest Fago Sr. 79, passed away on July 20th, 2024, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born December 18, 1944, in Bonanza, Nicaragua, the son of John Albert Fagot and Maria Cecelia (Bordas) Fagot.
David was the youngest of 9 children. He and his family arrived in the United States, at the port of Tampa on December 18th, 1945. His father owned an export company, and his mother worked at Christ the King School. David graduated from high school in 1961. Following graduation, he proudly served in the US Army 1st Calvary Division APO in the Vietnam War. After returning home he met his wife Audrey Faye (Beasley) Fago. In February 2024 they had celebrated 57 years of marriage.
David had a successful career as a salesman and an entrepreneur in the Aluminum and Window industry. David had a love for the game of baseball, and he loved coaching his son in Little League and his two older grandsons in Little League and Travel Baseball. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughter play Softball. Before his passing he found great pleasure in watching his youngest grandson play Basketball. David's greatest joy in life was his grandchildren and family. He had 16 nieces and nephews in which he was a strong presence in their lives as a mentor and father figure.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his Sister Rosemary Foose, Sister Mary Hartkorn, Brother Joseph Fagot, Sister Margaret Westrick Fagot, Brother Chris Fagot and his brother John A. Fagot. He is survived by his loving wife Audrey Faye Fago, his Sister Juana Bordas Fagot, his Son David C. Fago, Jr., his daughter in law Carole, their son Caid, his daughter Nicole Buzbee and her three children Wyatt, Skylar and Levi Buzbee.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 13, 2024, at 6 PM at Showmans Club located at 6915 Riverview Drive, Riverview, Florida 33578. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to K9 for Vets at the link provided: Donate-K9s For Warriors
