David R. Farley, 80, of
Jefferson City, Missouri passed away surrounded by loved ones Friday, October 24, 2025.
David was born on April 1, 1945, in Eldon, Missouri to the late Clyde and Hazel (Gray) Farley.
David attended Jefferson City High School, afterwards he began working in construction, and married the love of his life Letty Picker on June 13, 1982.
David fostered multiple children and his favorite moments were spent with his grandchildren. He also dedicated his time to serving others through mission trips to Peru and by working with Mountain Top Ministry, where he helped rebuild homes and bring hope to those in need.
David had a deep appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the great outdoors. A passionate collector of Native American pottery and artifacts, he took great pride in preserving pieces of the past and sharing their stories with others. David was also an avid antique enthusiast, always on the lookout for unique treasures and timeless finds.
David enjoyed homecooked meals, although he occasionally cooked an omelet or barbecued he would most of the time supervise the kitchen making sure that Letty made everything to his liking. While not in the kitchen he was taking the time to learn the Banjo.
A devoted supporter of the Second Amendment, David enjoyed time spent hunting rabbit and deer, as well as fishing in favorite local spots. Auctions and traveling were among his favorite pastimes - always eager for the next adventure or a good deal. Whether outdoors in nature or exploring a new destination, David embraced life with curiosity, passion, and appreciation for the things that brought joy and meaning.
David was deeply connected and devoted to Jefferson City Christian Center, and loved and supported his pastor; Douglas Crader.
David is survived by His loving wife of forty three years, Letty (Picker) Farley, Daughters; Lisa Mueller (Gary Peneston), Michele Farley, Amy Emerson (Danny), Son; Matthew Weider (Becky), Sister; Naomi Tripensee, Brother; James Farley, Grandchildren; Hanna Brautigam (Nathan) Sierra Mueller (Lane) Borchers, Austin Emerson, Noa Emerson, Paul Emerson, Clyde Emerson, Gideon Emerson, Elsie Emerson, Lettie Emerson, Roger Emerson, Abby Weider, Karson Weider, and one Great Grandchild; Auggie Brautigam. He was preceded in death by his brother Harold Farley.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Christian Center.
Friends and family will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. A Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Doug Crader officiating.
