David Favello

David Favello, born 2 September 1961, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 10 February 2026. He had been suffering from early onset Alzheimer's disease for several years. Friends and family will remember him as a bright, vibrant and kind-hearted person who brought joy to the lives of the people who knew him.

Dave was an avid cyclist. He worked as a bicycle mechanic for more than 30 years and thought of himself as a "Bicycle Ambassador." He promoted cycling through his professional work, advocacy and participation in Critical Mass events.

After graduating from California State University, Chico with a BA in business, he helped to establish and to manage his family's successful photo finishing business.

Dave's other interests included photography and performing magic shows. In a quiet way, those hobbies helped him to explore his sense of wonder.

Dave is survived by his mother Elisabeth of Walnut Creek; brother Dennis of Union Dale Pennsylvania; and loving parter Anjelica Randall of Montgomery, Vermont. He was predeceased by his father George; and brother Ronald.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 860 Oak Grove, Concord CA at 11:00 am, 2 March 2026. A reception will follow there afterward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Trips for Kids, which provides beginner and intermediate-level mountain bike riding, environmental education, bicycle mechanic training and earn-a-bike programs for youth.
