David Clifford Fields

David Clifford Fields of Kalamazoo, Michigan was called home on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the age of 85. David was born in Shannon, Mississippi on October 10, 1936, to father Clifford Fields and mother Silvia May Ward-Fields. David was raised by his Grandparents, Simiel and Roxanne Fields with his two beloved sisters Mildred Terry and Louise Williams. Having been raised by a grandparent who was a Reverend, from a young age, David knew and developed a relationship with the Lord.
David was educated in Shannon, Mississippi and attended Okolona College before entering into the U.S. Military (Army). After serving in the U.S. Military David relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he resided for several years before relocating to Kalamazoo. He began his lifetime career in Auto Body, where he owned and operated his own business for over 40 years.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Fields and Silvia May Ward-Fields; sisters, Mildred Terry, Louise Williams, Margaret Macklin, Linda Fields; brothers, Charles and Clifton DeJean. David leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, former wife, Monica Fields and their 2 children, David (Melanie) Fields Jr., Keila Fields and his son Daequan Mitchell-Fields; 3 grandchildren, Kennedy Fields, Tori Fields and Arrionna Matthews; and siblings, Stanley, Joyce, Larry, Calvin, Ricky, Christine, Denise, Dennis and Edward as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 4-7 pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 3926 S 9th St. Kalamazoo, MI 49009. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 21st at the funeral home with a family hour from 10:00 until the service at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Ft.
