David Scott Fontenot, a beloved son and brother, transitioned to eternal rest on August 26, 2024, days after celebrating his fifty-fifth birthday. David was a long-time resident of Opelousas and a treasured employee of the O'Reilly's Auto Parts team.
David is survived by his brothers, Rowddy Fontenot and his wife Trisha, Jason Fontenot and his wife Melody; neices and nephews, Benjamin Fontenot, Valerie Fontenot Nemes and her husband, Jozsef, Courtney Fontenot, Seth Fontenot and his wife Amanda, Judson Fontenot, Hayden Fontenot, Lee Lee Fontenot and Ethan Fontenot.
David has now been reunited with his parents, Rodney Fontenot and Lillian McCain Fontenot; his maternal grandparents, Walton Irving McCain and Isar Marie McCain; and his paternal grandparents, Sadie Fontenot and Alia Fontenot.
Per David's request there will be no memorial service held. He will be reunited with his parents at Myrtle Grove Cemetery at a later date.
