David Eugene Fortson, 62, of Enochville, North Carolina, passed away on June 10th, 2022 at 6:12 PM after a laborious battle with cancer at Tucker House Hospice.

Born in Mooresville, David was a quiet and endlessly kind man. David was fiercely passionate about creating positive experiences with all types of people from the start and dedicated his life to both his pursuit of kindness and his family. Whether through his love of music through his band, film, mechanics or any of his other strongly held hobbies, David found a way to connect to and love anyone he met.

In 2006 David met his wife, Renee and in love adopted both of her children Ross Ervin and Danielle Furr. David put family first, always.

David was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father and husband. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family.

David was also passionate about restoring cars. He spent most of his free time after being disabled working on restoring his fathers truck.

David was predeceased by his father, Junior Fortson, Aunt Coleen, Aunt Dot and best friend, Stan. He leaves behind his wife, Renee Fortson, his children, Ross Ervin and Danielle Furr, son-in-law, Shane Furr, his mother Hazel Boatwright, his sister Janice Cruse, his niece Amber Cruse, and his mother-in-law, Elenor Ervin.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 25th at Concordia Lutheran Church in China Grove, NC at 2:30 pm. It is open to all who knew and loved him. His family requests donations of flowers and notes to be sent to the church before service.
