David Freeburn Obituary

GARRETT - David G. Freeburn, 75, of Garrett, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1949, in Auburn, Indiana, to Paul E. and Gladys V. (Cribbs) Freeburn.

David worked for 37 years at Foamex in Auburn, until his retirement in 2015.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Garrett and volunteered at the LaOtto food bank.

He enjoyed coffee and breakfast with the guys every week.

David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anita (Day) Freeburn. They were married on July 31, 1971, in Auburn. Also surviving are a daughter, Michelle L. Likes, of Garrett; grandson, Kagan Likes, of Garrett; and a brother, Cecil E. Freeburn, of Auburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Kirsten E. Likes.

Services will be held at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, IN 46706, with burial to follow at Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett.

Calling is two hours prior to the service on Tuesday, from 1- 3 p.m., at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in memory of David, to Alliance Industries, 901 E. Quincy St., Garrett, IN 46738.
