David Jay Frick, age 79, of Litchfield, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Hillsdale Hospital. He was born August 16, 1945, in Hillsdale to Donald and Loentine (Smith) Frick. He married Gail Wellein, and she preceded him in death in 2009 after 41 years of marriage.
David graduated from Litchfield High School in 1963 and went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed taking his Jeep for rides down the back roads, racing at Butler Motor Speedway and scrapping at junk yards. He attended "choir practice" every Wednesday night and was especially passionate about antique tractors, collecting them and attending tractor pulls.
Survivors include his son, Lance "Pete" (Billie Jo) Frick of Quincy; grandchildren, Ashley (Joshua) Ladd of Quebec, TN, Brittany (Alex) Miller of Rome City, IN and Cloee Frick of Quincy; great-grandchildren, Lucy Miller, Jase Miller and Zoe Ladd; brothers, Richard Smith of Hillsdale, Frank Frick of Quincy and Stewart (Sherry) Frick of Quincy; and four nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gail; and sister in laws, Marilyn Frick and Joan Smith.
