David Frye (Mr. "One-Der-Ful"), 84, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at Meadow Falls of Saybrook.

Born on December 25, 1940, in Elyria, Ohio, David was the son of the late Ann Riesterer and Edward Frye.

In 1960, David married the love of his life, Mary Lou Frye. Together, they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and family. A lifelong boater, David found great happiness on the water and cherished sharing his love of boating, fishing, and camping with his family. A skilled and dedicated electrician, David took great pride in his craft and was a longtime member of IBEW Local 673.

David served his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961. He was an active member of several organizations, including the Riverside Yacht Club, the American Legion, and was a proud lifetime member of the VFW and the East Ashtabula Club. He was also a member of Mt. Carmel Church, where he found a strong sense of community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann Riesterer and Edward Frye; stepmother, Marge Frye; stepfather, Albert Riesterer; his brother, Edward Frye; and stepbrother, Albert Riesterer.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Lou Frye; children, LeeAnn (Mark) Berry, David (Stacey) Frye, Steve (Ginger) Frye, and Valerie (Joseph) Puchan; his sister, Sally (Steve) Torma; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 26th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home. Additional calling hours will take place on Saturday, September 27th, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, with Father Francis Muriithi officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, Ohio.
