David Harrison Gaither, 77, of Roanoke Rapids passed away January 6, 2026, at the Greenville Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 8, 1948, in Halifax County to the late George Russell Gaither and Margaret Alma Aycock Gaither. He is also preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” Gaither, sister Jean Gaither Wells, and his niece Elizabeth “Libby” Wells.
David was a member of Bear Swamp Baptist Church since childhood. He also served proudly in the United Stated Marine Corps serving two terms in Vietnam.
David is survived by his sister Ellen Gaither Draper (Julian) of Newport News, VA; sister-in-law Elsie Gaither of Littleton; nieces Debbie Morgan (Ozzie) of Roanoke Rapids, Sharon Wells of Roanoke Rapids, Janice Via of Beckley, WV, Brenda Lewis of Newport News, VA, and Valerie Waller (Charlie) of Jamestown, VA.
