Loved his family, coaching and the Red Sox
WOLCOTT- Mr. David J. Gardner Sr. 88 of Wolcott, beloved husband of the late Maryann (Klobedanz) Gardner died peacefully on Monday February 10, 2025 in Meriden.
Born in Waterbury on January 7, 1937, David was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Nelson) Gardner. He served in the US Air Force and was a retired employee of Amphenol. Dave and his wife Maryann resided in Wolcott where they raised their children. He coached little league and Mickey Mantle baseball for many years and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He attended games at Fenway Park with his daughter Christine, taught his children and grandchildren the game, and attended all his granddaughter Katie's softball games in his later years. Dave and Maryann enjoyed traveling, had many friends, and loved their pets Snoopy, Puffy, Missy and Bear. Dave lived a full life, was well loved and respected, and will be deeply missed.
Left to carry on his loving legacy are his son David Gardner Jr. of Wolcott, CT, his daughter Christine Ann Gardner of Arlington, TX, his precious granddaughters Kaitlyn Christine Cosmos and Alisha Rose Cosmos of Wolcott, CT, who he loved with all his heart, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Maryann, Dave was predeceased by his daughter Jacqueline Michelle Cosmos and three brothers.
