David Landis Garrett

David Landis Garrett better known and loved as Pop. Age-69 of Lebanon, TN. Born November 1, 1953, David went home to be with our Lord on December 4, 2022 David is survived by his beautiful wife of 50 years, Kathy Garrett; their children, Tabitha Stinson, Cynthia Garrett, Joe (Amanda) Garrett, Jonathan Garrett, Daniel (Meaghan) Martin, Dale Stinson; grandchildren, Tricia, Ryan (Demetra), William, Timothy, Kalan, Joshua, Vanessa, Lexi, Haylee & Levi; great-grandchildren, Branson, Wyatt, Nickolas & Emma; sister, Joycene (Paul) Shelby; brother, Larry (Connie) Garrett; and many beloved nieces and nephews, along with countless other adopted loved ones.
To know him was to love him and to be loved by him. David is preceded in death by his mother, Billie Jean Garrett; father, Reverend William L Garrett; and beloved daughter, Stephanie Garrett.
David was a proud and loud shouty Nazarene. Never one to miss a chance to give his testimony or lend a helping hand. He raised his children to show compassion. David's example of love and kindness spread to every soul he touched whether it was in church, a parking lot or the holiest of Kmart department stores. His divine guidance to know when a stranger needed a kind word or an ear to listen, his devotion to spreading god's word was his internal light. He was a fierce Christian and loved our lord and savior with his whole heart.
The Greatest man I've ever known has gone home to be with the Lord. He clung to the old rugged cross and has now exchanged it for his crown.
If you would like to celebrate a life well lived and enjoy a final testimony by David, visitation will be Friday December 9, 2022, from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday December 10, 2022, at 9 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. service at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road Nashville TN 37211, officiated by close family friend Tim Bradley. Interment to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 1101 Lebanon Pike Nashville TN 37210.
