Robert Allen Garrett

Robert Allen Garrett, 85, of rural Lagro, Indiana, died at 8:45 pm, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his home. He was born on April 4, 1940, in Wabash, Indiana, to Walter and Mildred (Culver) Garrett.

Bob married Alane (Sargent) Addis in Wabash on December 19, 1987. He worked at General Tire in Wabash and Peru for 42 years retiring in 2007. Bob raised chickens and cattle, and was also a beekeeper. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife, Alane Garrett of Lagro, three children, Robert Allen Garrett of Wabash, Beverly Garrett of Peru, Indiana, and Erica Vance of Fort Wayne; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry Garrett, Shirley Morgan, Evelyn Turner, and Dianne Fife, all of Wabash. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Debra K. Shepherd, three grandchildren, Faith Garrett, Joshua Garrett, and Jasmine Garrett; three brothers, Jim, John, and Raymond Garrett; and two sisters Martha Tyler and Mary Haines.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Shawn Light officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Friends may call 12-2 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is American Heart Association.
