David Garrison Obituary
April 10th, 2025 at the age of 67David L. Garrison Sr., age 67 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.
David was born on January 7, 1958 in Salem, the son of Thomas and Barbara (Boyles) Garrison. He married Brenda Higgins on December 30, 1980 in Kermit, Texas and she survives in Salem.
In addition to his wife, Brenda, and mother, Barbara, he is survived by one son, David L. Garrison Jr. and wife Michelle of Salem; one daughter, Teresa L. Garrison of Carbondale; grandchildren, Brandon Garrison, Izzabell Garrison, Kourtney Garrison, Elijah Garrison, Davian Garrison, Freddy Garrison and Zenbreya Garrison; and a brother, Paul Garrison of Salem.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas; and his brothers, Mark Garrison and John Garrison.
David retired as a Lieutenant from the Illinois Department of Corrections where he was a Tac Commander. He was a member of the Marion County Church of Christ in Odin. He loved to ride his motorcycle, fishing, hunting, and being with his family.
A Celebration of Life for David L. Garrison will be held at Noon on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Memorials can be made to Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor and can be received at the funeral home. Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
