David Franklin Gary

David Franklin Gary of Wyoming passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at home with his family by his side. He was 78.
Mr. Gary was born on December 15, 1946, in Chestertown, Maryland to the late Earnest Gary and Angie Dixon Gary. He moved to Dover when he was 10 years old and graduated in 1965 from Dover High School.
He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam War 1966 to 1970. Mr. Gary worked at Firestone at the Blue Hen Mall until 1985 when he started at Holden BCP Dodge in Dover, where he retired from in 2007. He loved cows and playing checkers. Mr. Gary also enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, and eating delicious sweets. He attended Church of Christ in Christian union in Henderson Maryland.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Diehl Gary in 2022 and brothers Joe Gary and James Gary.
He is survived by his sons, Lawrence Gary and his wife Teresa of Harrington, Stephen Gary and his wife Tina of Wyoming and Paul Gary of Wyoming; sisters, Myrtle Clendaniel of Hartly, Della Eiler of Star Mississippi, Mary Sard of Wyoming, Rebecca Jackson of Bridgeville, Martha Mench of Dover and Debra Krupka of Hartly; grandchildren, Kayla and Travis Gary; and great grandchildren, Jameson Gary and Zachary Gary.
A viewing will be held from 5-7pm, Thursday evening, August 7, 2025, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
