David Gibbs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, P.C. - Allentown on Dec. 27, 2025.
David Jeremy Gibbs, known musically as DavidTru and affectionately called Scootaboot by his mother, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 34. He is survived by his three beloved daughters: Wynter, Diem, and Kai'yanie Gibbs, who adored him immensely.

A devoted father and caring brother, David was known for his quiet humility and the significant impact he had on those around him. He excelled as an athlete, playing running back in football and competing in basketball at William Allen High School, where his passion and dedication were clear. David was a talented musician who not only sang but also wrote and produced his own songs under the name "DavidTru." His creativity and artistry were a true reflection of his vibrant spirit, showcasing his passion for music.

Tragically, his passing comes shortly after the loss of his mother on January 4, 2024, with whom he shared a deep connection. The absence of both will be deeply felt by family and friends.

David's adventurous spirit was evident in his love for ATV riding, fast cars, and caring for his pets, including snakes and dogs. He traveled to California and Hawaii for performances, drawing inspiration from these experiences. As a loving father, he cherished moments spent taking his daughters to the park, creating lasting memories filled with joy and laughter.

He is survived by his daughters, Wynter, Diem, and Kai'yanie Gibbs; his brothers, Rashad and Terrill Gibbs, Antoine "Tuda" Smith, Ian Carter; and his father, Brinton Gibbs Jr., along with many family members and friends who held him dear.

Services: A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM, www.BKRFH.com
