David Gingrich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Falardeau Funeral Home, Inc. on Dec. 5, 2025.
David Leo Gingrich, born and raised in Liverpool, NY, entered his eternal rest on December 4, 2025. The eldest son of Leo and Glenda Gingrich, David grew up with a love for the outdoors, adventure, and family. As a young man, he was a proud Boy Scout and developed lifelong passions for bowling, boating, camping, and spending time with the people who meant the most to him.

For many years, David faithfully served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department. His willingness to step forward for others, often at great personal sacrifice, reflected the courage and compassion that shaped his entire life.

David also enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a Xerox senior field engineer. Known for his steady hands, problem-solving skills, and quiet dependability, he built strong relationships with coworkers and customers alike. His work ethic, integrity, and commitment to excellence earned him deep respect everywhere he served.

David met the love of his life, Cathy ("With a Sea"), and from the very beginning their connection was immediate and enduring. They married August 5, 1972, beginning a 53-year journey marked by joy, devotion, and countless shared adventures. Together, they built a beautiful life, cherishing their time camping, boating, and especially enjoying "The River"-their treasured place of rest, renewal, and unforgettable memories.

Family was the heart of David's world. Preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Glenda, he is survived by his siblings Kevin, Lynne, and Sandra. But his greatest joy was found in raising the five boys who filled his life with purpose: his three sons-Kipper, Matthew, and Peter-and his two nephews, Cory and Bradlee, whom he embraced and loved as sons.

The bond between the Gingrich and Corrigan families was extraordinary. David and Cathy, together with Aunt Linda and Uncle Al Corrigan, created a unique and loving family story-raising their five boys as brothers, supported by two sets of parents, two homes, and one shared foundation of love. It was a rare and beautiful blessing that shaped every life it touched.

David also welcomed with joy his daughter-in-law's-Rebecca, Stacey, and Jennifer-who became cherished members of the family. His grandchildren-Kipper II, Lily, Matthew II, Peter Jr., Aidan, Sienna, Julianna, Brody, and Owen-brought him immense delight and pride, filling his days with laughter, energy, and countless treasured moments.

In retirement, David and Cathy embraced a new season in Florida, continuing to find joy in sunshine, friendship, and shared life.

David leaves behind a legacy rich in love, laughter, and faith. His trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior brings deep comfort to those who mourn his passing, knowing he is now in the presence of the One who gives eternal life and everlasting peace.

Cathy and family,

Very sorry to hear this news and your loss. Dave was a great coworker, a consummate pro but a better person. I last saw him over the summer having coffee at the weekly Wegman's Xerox gathering. He always was proud talking about family, Florida activities and always showed a genuine interest in others. Evidently, God had a Xerox machine acting up and he needed the best!!

My deepest sympathies to all and God Bless your family. May memories provide comfort going forward with God's love.
