David Donald Greger, 85, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at home. He was born on March 21, 1940 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Stephen Joseph and Anna (Kakas) Greger. He was the beloved husband to Mary Jo (McGrail) Greger, celebrating 63 years of marriage on November 17, 2025. David was a US Army Veteran and worked for US Steel as a Draftsman and later as a clerk for the US Postal Service. David and his wife belonged to St. Michael Church and attended Divine Redeemer in Elizabeth. He loved to fish, garden and take care of animals, rescuing dogs. His greatest joys came from his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph Greger of Alexandria, VA; daughter Theresa (Nicholas) Hetrick of Carmichaels; and grandchildren, Anna and Danny Hetrick. Friends are welcome on Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10 AM at the Divine Redeemer Mother House 999 Rock Run Rd, Elizabeth, PA 15037, with Father Vincent Velas, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue.
