David Grogan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 3, 2026.
David Michael Grogan, 55, of Lanesborough, Massachusetts, passed away surrounded by family on January 19, 2026, due to complications from a stroke.

Born in 1970 in Washington, D.C., Dave was the son of the late W. Raymond and Lina Grogan. He graduated from Sanford High School in Maine and earned a bachelor's degree in political science from The Catholic University of America, where he played varsity tennis. He later earned a master's degree in public administration from SUNY Binghamton.

Dave worked at Hillcrest Educational Centers beginning in 2012 as a youth development professional, where he devoted himself to supporting students with autism. He was known for his kindness, dedication, and genuine care in helping students navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. His patience and commitment to their well-being left a lasting impact on those in the Hillcrest community.

Dave enjoyed biking, skiing, traveling, and never passed up a chance to get together with family and friends. He will be missed by his siblings, Ray Grogan of Brunswick, Maine and Lisa Grogan-McCulloch of Arlington, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Jill Grogan; brother-in-law Lewis McCulloch; and five nieces and nephews - Liam, Brady, and Sadie Grogan and Alina and Tessa McCulloch - to whom he was a thoughtful and caring uncle.

A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks.
