David Guliuzza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home on Jan. 5, 2026.
SEYMOUR - David Scott Guliuzza, 57, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. David was born on July 2, 1968, at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut.

A true food lover at heart, David had a passion for cooking and proudly owned Pilgrim BBQ in Ansonia for many years. He was especially known for his incredible fried chicken, ribs, and anything barbecue-meals that brought people together and left lasting memories.

David was a gentle and kind soul who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed taking cruises with friends, spending time with his dogs, and sharing laughter and good food with those he loved. His generosity, warmth, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Joseph and Rose Guliuzza and Everett and Lillian Anderson. He was also predeceased by his two special furbabies Max and Jake.

He is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Linda Guliuzza of Seymour, CT; his brother Richard Guliuzza and his wife Billieanne of Oxford; and his sister Renee Guliuzza and her fiance Michael Veronneau. David was a devoted uncle to his three cherished nieces, Haley Guliuzza, Savannah Guliuzza, and Ella Herold, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his beloved furbaby, Tucker, who held a very special place in his heart.

Calling hours will be held on Friday January 9th from 10:00AM to 1:00PM at Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 with a short service to follow. The burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the American Heart Association or to the Ansonia Animal Shelter. Both organizations were close to David's heart.

My sincere condolences.
To me, I will always remember Dave with his contagious laugh that you can hear in a crowded room. I´m sure he´s with his fur babies.

Some of the best food in the valley could be found at the Pilgrim BBQ . You will be sadly missed feeding so many people with great food I will never forget that restaurant, i rate all fried chicken to the "Chicken Joe's standard which is a very high bar to pass.

My deepest sympathies for David´s family and friends. I worked with David and enjoyed our daily chats and getting to know him. He was a kind soul and always brought a smile to the office. I had the privilege of enjoying his fine cooking when he would bring treats in!
