Poynette / Sun Prairie – David L. Hafner, age 66, passed away on March 25, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on July 14, 1958 in Appleton, Wisconsin the son of Kenneth and Melva (Jerdee) Hafner.

David graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1976. After school he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and served his country until an Honorable Discharge. David was a dedicated entrepreneur owning Limo One Limousine and The Brass Rail in the 90s, and Hookers Resort for the last 32 years. He was involved in motorcycle racing with his son and enjoyed tropical vacations with his family. It was his childhood dream to live on the Wisconsin River, which he did for the last 30 years of his life. He loved being on the Wisconsin River boating and fishing as well as fishing trips to Canada with his son and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife Kathy, his son Brenden Hafner, daughter Michelle Georgi, granddaughter Brianna (Kyle) Windisch, grandsons Ricky and Cody Hebel, his two sisters, Dyann Hafner (Thomas Addison) and Dedra Hafner (Arthur Zimmerman).

David was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie.
