David Hall Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 2, 2026.
David Fitzhugh Hall, a lifelong resident of Westmoreland county and a man who found deep joy in God's every creation, passed away peacefully on December 30th at the age of 75 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born on February 8th to Richard Shelton Hall Jr. and Carrie Roane Hall in Nomini Grove, David lived his life rooted in faith, gratitude, and hard work. He believed that the beauty of the natural world was a reflection of God's handiwork, and through patience and dedication he nurtured both the earth and the people around him. Community was important to David, and he served as the president of the Ruritans and was a long-term member of the Lions Club. A graduate of Virginia Tech, David was also an avid fan of sports, following every Hokies game and cheering on the Boston Red Sox.

David is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Andrea, his sons, Travis (Carlye) and Zachary (Christy), his granddaughters Piper, Parker, and Wrenlee, his grandson, Wakefield, his sister, Betty Gray Koranek (Dennis), and his canine companion of 17 years, Molly. He was welcomed to Heaven by his father and mother, and his brother Richard Hall III. While his presence here will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and trust that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10th, 2025, 11:00am at Yeocomico Episcopal Church, 1219 Old Yeocomico Rd, Kinsale, VA 22488, with a reception to follow at Ames Lee Hall. In lieu of flowers, honor David by planting a garden, shelling some pecans or butter beans for loved ones, or spending quiet time watching the birds, giving thanks to God for the gift of life and creation.
