David "Bud" Hall, 86, of Black Mountain, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 30, 2026.

Bud was born on December 14, 1939, in Mitchell County, NC to the late Willie and Pearl Hall. Bud served faithfully as a longtime member and Deacon of Brookside Baptist Church. He will be remembered for his generous heart and his constant desire to share a laugh with everyone he met. A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, he was a true friend to many and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Howell Hall; his son, David "Foot" Hall; and his siblings, Naomi Hoilman, Linda Hicks (Buster), Jean Whitson, Carolyn Stewart (Bill), Charles Hall (Vicky), Ray Hall (Sharon), Pat Gardner, and Bill "Tuny" Hall (Darlene).

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Tammy Smith (Michael); daughter-in-law, Theresa Hall (Bobby); grandchildren, David Cody Hall (Amy), Jake Hall (Amanda) and Jessica Carter; great grandchildren, Aidan and Taelyn "KK" Ogle, Raelynn and Easton Hall; sister, Kathy "Jo" McKinney (Larry); brother-in-law, Edward Whitson; special friends, Kandy Barham, Betty Norman, and Debbie Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Harwood Home for Funerals and Cremation Services. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 2:00pm with Rev. Steve Bugenhagen and Rev. Travis Guffey officiating.
