David L. Hamilton, Sr., of Pittsfield, New Hampshire died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire. He was 56.
Dave was born in Newton on March 28, 1968, a son of Patricia (Goinsalvos) Hamilton of Newton and the late Donald Hamilton. Raised in Newton, he was a graduate of Newton Catholic High School.
In September, 1992 he married Joan M. Casella, and the couple soon moved to Nashua New Hampshire. Before moving to Pittsfield two years ago they lived for more than 20 years in Hooksett, New Hampshire. Dave worked for years as a tractor-trailer driver for the Belknap-White Group.
The family created many happy memories by yearly visits to Lincoln, New Hampshire and to Ogunquit, Maine and to locations throughout New England on camping excursions. Dave was a longtime member of the Chester Rod and Gun Club where he made many lasting friendships.
Rides on his Harley as part of the 'Grizz Group' were weekly events. Dave was a skilled golfer and an avid New England Patriots fan. An annual event that he looked forward to was “The Longest Day“ golf tournament run by his uncle Richie Goinsalvos that included three full rounds of golf and dinner in one day. Exhausting, but thoroughly enjoyable!
In addition to his mother, he leaves his beloved wife of thirty-two years, Joan; his devoted children, David L. Hamilton, Jr. (Samantha) of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Angela M. Hamilton (Connor Palma) of Warner, New Hampshire, his cherished grandsons, Oliver and Bennett Hamilton; his sisters, Debbie Hamilton of Waltham and Sandy Hamilton of Newton and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Dave was also a brother of the late Michael Hamilton.
Family and friends will honor and remember Dave's life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, February 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. and will conclude with his Funeral Service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
