David “Hambone” Paul Hamilton, Sr. passed away on November 22, 2025. He was born January 29, 1958, to William and Cecilia (Theyel) Hamilton. He grew up in Kimberly with his four siblings and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1977. While in High School he met Rebecca “Becky” Stiltjes and the two became fast friends and soulmates. They were married on May 3, 1980, and they shared 45 years and two children.

Dave began work at Neenah Foundry a job he held for 38 years at the time he retired. Dave was an avid camper and he and Becky spent time at Captain’s Cove for 30+ years. The crew at the Cove was truly a second family to the Hambone family. Dave was family oriented, and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and extended family. He had a personality that drew others to him-and friends became the family he chose.

Dave was also a skilled woodworker. He spent hours building bird houses, furniture and even his workbench in the basement. Dave enjoyed watching sports and of course was an avid Packer fan. Too, he enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs. A true Cubs fan, he only rooted for the Brewers when the Cubs were “out of it.” He found great enjoyment in the occasional jaunt to the casino. He and Becky also enjoyed road trips to various places around the United States.

Dave is survived by his wife Becky; children: David (Robin) Hamilton, Jr., Heather Hamilton; grandchildren: Hayden, Anniston, Harper, Ashlynn. He is also survived by his siblings: Debbi Hamilton, Steve (Bong Hui) Hamilton, Patti (Kevin) Stroupe, Mary Jo (Mike) Krueger, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and of course good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dave’s life will be celebrated on Saturday December 6, 2025, from 3:00pm until 5:00pm, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward as Dave would by purchasing a tree in his memory.

Dave will be remembered as an all-around good guy and someone who helped anyone who needed help.
