David Harper Jr., 48, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025.
A funeral service to honor David’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, January 4th at Cedar Point Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiated by Rev. Daniel Colwell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. David will be laid to rest privately at Gethsemane Memorial Park. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website.
Born on July 30, 1977, in Morehead City, North Carolina, David was the beloved son of Rev. David and Pamela Harper. Growing up at Cedar Point Pentecostal Holiness Church, David developed a deep love for the Lord and a strong appreciation for the Word of God. He especially loved singing gospel music and had a true gift of encouragement, often blessing others with his uplifting and heartfelt words.
David loved his family more than anything and worked hard to provide for their needs. He cherished time spent playing with his children and was known for his athletic nature. He enjoyed basketball, boxing, and weightlifting, activities that reflected both his energy and discipline.
David will be remembered for his faith, his devotion to his family, and the kindness and encouragement he freely gave to others.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose Romero of Lake Charles, LA; sons, Nathan Harper of Newport, NC, Jaycob Apao Jr., Hunter Romero, David Harper III, Malachi Harper, and Paden Harper, all of Lake Charles, LA; parents, Rev. David Harper Sr. and Pamela Brinson Harper of Newport, NC; sister, Dana Colwell (Daniel) of Havelock, NC; and nephew, Luca Colwell.
