OBITUARY
David Harris, 57, husband of Patricia Dalton Harris (for over 20 years) passed away on 2/10/24 in Duluth, GA. He was born in Johannesburg, South Africa to the late Lydia and Lionel Harris. He moved Marietta, GA at the age of twelve with his sister Carol and parents. He married his wife, Patricia (Trish) Dalton Harris in 1997. They moved to the Tampa Bay/Clearwater & Orlando areas to fulfill a dream of living close to the beach. Subsequently, the couple returned to the Atlanta area in 2005 to be closer to family again. Dave was a graduate of Riverwood High School in Marietta, GA. As an adult he graduated from Gwinnett Technical College Cum Laude with an Associate's degree in Technology Management & HR. He subsequently proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business & Technology Management Cum Laude from University of North Georgia. David was attending a program at The University of GA, Terry College of Business working towards earning a Certified Financial Planner certification. He had a passion for financial planning and his aspiration was to become a CFP and help people with their investments and financial planning.
Dave had a successful career as a Sr. Client Service's Representative for over 20 years in financial services & logistics. Most notably, he worked for several years at Equifax/Certegy and FedEx. His experience also included Help Desk. He also was a volunteer at the Senior Center for the Gwinnett County Government and helped to prepare meals which were delivered to Senior Citizens.
Dave enjoyed the outdoors including going to beaches, mountains and traveling. While growing up, he went to Spain every year and visited his grandparents, uncle, and cousins. David and Trish spent their honeymoon in Spain and visited a few times. Very recently they went to Paris, then Barcelona to visit family there. The couple did a lot of additional traveling including but not limited to the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Mexico, several beaches in FL, Savannah, Charleston, San Diego, San Francisco- Napa Valley & Sonoma. Dave enjoyed watching sports. His favorite team was the Atlanta Braves, and he was very excited when they won the World Series in 2021 & 1995. He also liked the Atlanta Falcons and GA Bulldogs. Dave is survived by his wife, Patricia Dalton Harris, his sister Carol Ann Glickman (Robert), nieces, Zoe & Rachel Glickman and sisters in law Ruth & Angela Dalton, Brother-in-Law, Joe Dalton (Elizabeth), nephew Jack Dalton, niece Claire Dalton, Brother-in Law, John Dalton, nephew Josh Dalton & great nieces, Kara & Lauren Dalton. He is preceded by his parents, Lydia & Lionel Harris. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Rabbi Rosenthal will be officiating. Friday, February 16th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Crestlawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30313. SHIVA: Shiva will be observed Friday only immediately following the funeral at David's sister & brother-in-law, Carol & Robert Glickman's home, 1837 Defoor Ave., Atlanta, GA 30318

David obviously lived life to his greatest potential. I know he will be missed by all that knew him. My thoughts and prayers for the entire family in the difficult days and weeks ahead.
