Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home - TremontonDavid Sterling Harris, age 62, passed away on December 27, 2025, in Millcreek, Utah. He was born on May 4, 1963, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Sterling Harris and Mary Jidov Harris.
Dave married Tamara Sue Shannon on August 12, 2012, in Murray, Utah. Throughout his life, he resided in various places, including Michigan, Florida, Japan, and Utah.
He earned an associate’s degree in applied science, specializing in Munitions Systems Technology. Dave served honorably for 24 years in active duty with the U.S. Air Force, which included several deployments. Following his military career, he worked for 15 years as a civilian at Hill Air Force Base, retiring from there on May 31, 2025. His dedication was recognized with several medals, including the Meritorious Service medal, the Air Force Commendation medal, and the Air Force Achievement medal during his time as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force.
In addition to his military career, Dave pursued his passion as a Journeyman Ferrier, providing horse shoeing services until 2012. A lover of the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and would backpack into secluded areas to hunt with his bow. Riding his motorcycle was another cherished pastime. He loved the wind in his face, sun on his skin, even the brisk morning air riding into work.
Dave was the Chapter President of Stryker Motorcycle Club. He was a memorable face and voice among both the Stryker MC and the Marines MC. Dave loved all of his MC brothers and would always manage to show his support in every aspect. The motorcycle club was a huge part of his life, along with his family.
Dave is survived by his beloved spouse, Tamara Shannon; as well as his stepsons, Riley Shannon and Joshua Shannon (fiancée Cali Wille); brother Tim Harris; and sister Linda Suave.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sterling Harris and Mary Jidov Harris, and his father and mother-in-law, Stanley Piechowski and Betty Piechowski.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Noon, with a viewing prior from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Rudd Funeral Home in Tremonton (111 N 100 E, Tremonton). For those unable to attend, the service will be livestreamed below.
Dave will be remembered for his commitment to his country, his passion for the outdoors, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
